Here are my 5 essential items for visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the summer with a baby or toddler. These ended up being life-savers for our trip with an 11-month-old baby:
1. Durable Stroller – Buenos Aires sidewalks can be unpredictable, so a sturdy stroller is a must. If you love exploring on foot, ensure your stroller can handle the terrain and make it back home intact.
2. White Noise Machine – Our Yoga Sleep USA Hush machine helped soothe our baby with various settings. Clip it to the stroller for comfort on the go.
3. Murphy’s Essential Oil Bug Repellent: DEET-free with 30% Lemon Eucalyptus oil, ideal for Argentina’s mosquito season. Found last minute at World Market and in a Costco bundle for $17.
4. Low Stimulating Light-up Activity Board – Ary found an amazing rocket-shaped activity board online. It has switches and knobs that trigger different lights to entertain the baby while you’re having lunch or need a distraction. We don’t give him our phones, so this was perfect. An older kid on our flight also loved playing with it.
5. Portable Fan – The FANimal Rechargeable Fan is fantastic. It charges via USB, has multiple speed settings, and features tripod tentacle legs to attach to the stroller or place on a table. Plus, it has cute cat ears! Thanks to my mom bestie friend Ariana for the recommendation.
It’s a simple packing list, but we don’t go out without these items in Buenos Aires in the summer!
