The views of the Andes mountain range in Valle de Uco, Argentina offers a captivating escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This is the Mendoza province, also known as wine country and it’s not to be missed, especially if you are looking for a unique Argentinean experience and an opportunity to indulge in the best premium malbec wines.
I had the opportunity to spend two nights here in Valle de Uco at a boutique wine hotel called Tupungato Divino and it was a great experience that I am happy to review with my own unbiased opinions.
Tupungato Divino offers quaint accommodations that blend with uninterrupted mountainous landscape and vineyards. It is not a winery, however, the accommodations are on a beautiful vineyard in the foothills of the Andes in Mendoza with no shortage of wine to drink. The property is looked after attentively by the owners, Pablo and Sergio who were available during my stay. You can very easily book wine tours through this property and retreat back to your boutique accommodation after a day of exploring the region.
The main building of Tupungato Divino is a restaurant and office where you would check-in. The accommodations are only a short walk away in cabanas or pueblo style buildings that tie in well with the scenery.
Each building has two units and each one is spacious. You essentially feel as though you have a private Airbnb on a vineyard with access to a five-star restaurant, bodega, vineyards and swimming pool. What’s better than that?
The Rooms at Tupuganto Divino
Many of the design elements in the rooms incorporate nature along with unfinished wood lighting and wine elements with a barrel for a table top for example. There is also a wood burning fireplace, a comfortable king size bed and an additional section with a couch, TV area and minibar. All of the cabanas have a private parking spot and an outdoor seating area that you can enjoy in the evening to look up at the stars while drinking a glass of malbec or admiring the Andes during the day after you have explored nearby vineyards.
Restaurant
The Tupungato Divino restaurant may have been my favorite restaurant in all of Argentina and I am not exaggerating. The talented chef knows her craft and each meal was delicious and unique. I had a chance to speak to her for a bit about her love and passion for food and both are very prevalent in each dish. For guests breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered and it is a popular lunch spot for wine tasters who are touring neighboring vineyards.
Breakfast and dinner are only available for guests, but it is absolutely worth it to stop by for lunch if you are not an overnight guest here. For $220 ARS, the restaurant offers a four-course meal and it is absolutely gourmet (that’s about $14 USD for the best food ever.)
My Dinner and Lunch Picks: Bife de Lomo with Malbec reduction, chia seed encrusted salmon, and an assortment of amazing appetizers and desserts.
Breakfast at the Tupungato Divino is not your typical Argentinian breakfast of medialuna and cafe con leche. You get an assortment of freshly baked pastries, bread, homemade jams, cold cuts, coffee and orange juice to start. You also have the option of eggs served any style you like.
Take a look at a few more photos from around the property that I took while staying at Tupungato Divino:
Hotel Stay Wrap Up
I recommend Tupungato Divino for anyone looking for a getaway from Buenos Aires, wine lovers looking for a unique experience and couples looking for a romantic weekend. I believe staying here is a one-of-a-kind experience. There are not many rooms here so it’s never crowded and you are literally staying on a vineyard. There are other vineyards with boutique wine hotels in the area, but they are a bit more commericialized and owned by a large wine corporation. Here, you have a locally owned boutique wine hotel experience located on prime real estate. The accomodation is comfortable, the food is high-quality and the views are stunning.
The Wifi: One thing to note is that wifi is really only available in the main restaurant building so if you plan to stay up late to work on your lap top, this is not for that. Here, you can completely tune out from the bustle of work demands and enjoy the company you are with in beautiful malbec-country.
Would I recommend Tupungato Divino to friends? Yes, absolutely.
Nightly Rate: The rate starts at $120 per night and only cash payments are accepted. You can make reservations online, but they do not accept pre-payment. You can reserve your stay through Booking.com.
How to Get There
By Bus
You can get to Valle de Uco on almost any budget. The most economic option if it’s only 1 or 2 people traveling would be by bus from the Mendoza City Bus Terminal. Both Buttini and Cata Internacional drop passengers off in the Tupungato Bus Terminal for 40 pesos. From Tupungato you would need to take a metered cab to the vineyard of your choice, which can cost 150-250 pesos.
By Taxi
You can take a taxi from Mendoza city center to a vineyard in Valle de Uco which may cost about 450 pesos. You can try to agree on a price ahead of time or go by the meter. In my experience, I’ve asked how much a trip from point A to point B and they still turn the meter on which is probably more economical.

Argentina certainly offers great value for luxury travellers. This looks like a lovely spot and that bed does look comfortable. I have visited other parts of Argentina but Mendoza looks like a great spot to explore.
Nice hotel. The vineyards around it are great and I love the swimming pool . I think I could stay there for hours with a glass of wine admiring the scenery.
We’ve just recently spent two days in Buenos Aires on the way home from a RTW trip, and we were surprised by how much we loved it there. Can’t wait to head back and spend some more time, with a specific trip so we can venture out and explore more of the surrounds. Awesome to hear this makes for a great excursion out!

I love malbec and Argentinian beef. This is my idea of heaven!
Looks like a great place and they made sure to make it blend with the surroundings and the nature. I love the swimming pool area. Would love to try the freshly baked pastries for breakfast! The restaurants is surprisingly cheap for what it offers.
I love when accommodations give you the feel of having your own small bungalow. And the views of the Andes are gorgeous. I’ve explored southern Argentina and would love to check out vineyards like this elsewhere in the country.
What an absolutely lovely place to stay. Look at that food! And the pool! I love it all. Great post, thanks for sharing 🙂
From the remote look of the place, I was worried about what it delivered but man, it sure did and then some. The room looks very comfy and cozy. The food, impressive. I can see why you enjoyed it so much, what a little slice of heaven.
I’m glad you mentioned the wifi situation because I’m always curious about that. Everything looks so nice. Thanks for sharing 🙂
