If you have the Barclays Arrival Card, you can upgrade to the $49 version for free for the first year.

RoadTrippers: If you’re planning a road trip in the United States, the RoadTrippers app can provide you with must-see stops that other users recommend. And it’s not just touristy landmarks, just enter your start and end locations and it will even suggest routes for you.

Whatsapp: Whatsapp has been around for a while, but if you don’t already have it it’s a great way to stay in touch with friends and family while abroad. As long as your contacts have the app, you can send each other free texts whenever there is wi-fi available.

Vocre: Vocre is the perfect translation app when trying to communicate with locals. Just say the word or sentence in any language into your phone and it will provide you with the translation for over 60 languages.
